Are you sitting comfortably on the toilet??
Are you sitting comfortably on the toilet??

Are you sitting comfortably …on the toilet!!

Hi, yes, you read me right.  Are you sitting comfortably …on the toilet!!

Why does this matter?

If you live in the UK, our toilet height is too high for total evacuation of your bowels. Your poo will have to travel uphill to be pushed out!

What!! Why!!

Because the design of our toilets is too high, a design flaw that is known about, and it means, your waste food matter has a more difficult journey out. If you have ever travelled to France and had the joy of "squatting" over a "La Toilette" (to you and me though, it is just a hole in the ground, rather than a toilet!!), you might have wondered why you did a perfect poo or that it exited your body at a good speed.😊

This wasn't because:

1) You were scared that you might fall into the hole.

2) You were worried that you hadn't locked the door properly or

3) You thought your phone in your back pocket was about to dive into said black hole!!

It is because squatting puts your body in a perfect position to empty your bowels😊 not pushing it uphill—just a smooth path into the water below.

What can we do to address the design flaw of our UK toilets??

Well, you can elevate or raise your feet upwards, so your bottom position is the best position to release your waste matter. You can buy a "squatty potty" to put your feet on to achieve this position or put your feet on some books to try it out first.

Here is a link to the "Rainbow poo" squatty potty video…. I think you will never be able to eat rainbow ice cream after this 😊

This position puts less pressure on your pelvic floor and strains it less, so it will help prolong your muscles' working at their best.

If your pelvic floor isn't working like it did, or you are sick of wetting yourself at the gym, it is because your pelvic floor muscles are not working for you. They have gone to sleep and need to fire up, or relax, so they can work again.

Drop me the word “PELVIC” and I can send you the details on how we can work together so you can have a pelvic floor as strong as you are.

Thanks, Denise x
